It’s the 3-week countdown to Splashy Fen Music Festival, and local musicians, the festival organisers and fans couldn’t be more excited! After a 3-year break, Splashy Fen to a very special farm in the Southern Drakensberg from Thursday the 14th to Monday the 18th of April this year.
Even better news is that while the initial 3 000 allocated tickets were sold out, thanks to new regulations, the festival has just released an additional number of tickets, need simply head to www.splashyfen.co.za to secure their #splashy2022 tickets for what promises to be a treat for the senses this Easter.
Having recently presented the Main Stage line-up for the event on their social pages, the festival’s full line-up now includes over 150 acts performing across 4 unique stages. From local Underberg legends to South African favourites like Mango Groove, Jeremy Loops, Mi Casa, and Good Luck, as well as up-and-coming musos and local hotshots, there really is something for everyone to look forward to.
“The 2022 festival is going to be an emotional return for many,” says Festival Director Stu Berry, “and we couldn’t think of a better first-night headliner than Mango Groove, to be able to bring in the return of Splashy Fen. Although we may only be operating at 50% capacity, our commitment to our fans is that we are not spending on a 50% capacity. With the support of our sponsors, we are going full out to ensure that the Splashy experience is not diluted based on a smaller capacity. If anything, Splashy 2022 is going to be a really special one, with bespoke, intimate experiences across our whole festival site for everyone. It’s a year you most certainly don’t want to miss!”
Other items for fans to look forward to include a fun Splashy Fen SA Day where fans are encouraged to don their proudest South African-inspired gear for the chance to win prizes and receive drinks specials. A Johnny Clegg tribute will bring tears to your eyes on Friday night at the Main Stage, while local DJ Michael Zuma will energise the crowds every night with the Splashy Spectacle set from the Splashy Fen Main Stage. The always-entertaining one-of-a-kind sound experience makes its return on Thursday night at the Splashy Fen Silent Disco, and the highly anticipated Splashy Fen Heroes Wall will pay tribute to those fans who donated their tickets back to the festival in 2020 after the event was cancelled.

Day passes will also now be on offer at a cost of R500 per adult per day, and R200 per child per day. Children under 4 can enter free of charge.
