June 10, 2011. Residents of both Mt Edgecombe 1 and 2 reported that there was no water available this morning.
A water tanker was spotted driving around the area.
The eThekwini Municipality said it was a temporary problem. There was a scheduled shutdown until 6am this morning but due to the rain, workers were unable to complete scheduled welding. The reservoir was thus empty.
The reservoir is currently filling up and in the meantime water tankers are assisting with water.
The city could not give a timeframe of when water would become available.
