The first event for the 2012 McCarthy Toyota Durban Multisport Series kicks off on 25 March 2012 at Suncoast, with a variety of events. Make sure you get yourself to the starting line!
Series organisers, B-Active Sports are excited to welcome McCarthy Toyota onboard as the title sponsor of the series, with an extra event thrown in for 2012. “We are looking forward to working with McCarthy Toyota this year to further grow the series and promote this exciting sport,” says Series Director Damian Bradley.
The Series starts on 25 March, with the following 3 events taking place on 22 July, 26 August and 2 December, with 400 athletes expected for each.

It is so wonderful to see how recognised and established this race has become since its humble beginnings in 2000. Xterra wetsuits, Thule and Nike Vision will be giving away some fantastic prizes to the athletes on top of the R10 000 prize purse. aQuella will be keeping the athletes well hydrated after the event, while 32Gi the Energy partner will be fueling the athletes along the race routes.
Individuals and Teams of 2 or 3 can enter the Durban Multisport Series, which caters for the whole family. Teams or Individuals can compete in either a Olympic or Sprint Triathlon (swim, cycle, run) or a Sprint Duathlon (Run, Cycle, Run).
There is also a Sprint distance Triathlon and a shorter Rookie Triathlon, for competitors who want to try out a multisport event and have some fun. This Rookie event is open to anyone over 8 years old, who would like to take part in a shorter event, which is safe and fun.
There will be one duathlon event, the sprint distance duathlon, which will consist of a 5km Run, 20km Cycle and a 2.5km run.
