Museroom, a creative studio

Rinnie Boshoff, Museroom

Contrary to Biblical prophesies, it’s unlikely the meek shall inherit the earth. Certainly, if you’re poised to make a success of your business, meekness won’t help you clinch deals, show what you’re made of, or establish your reputation.

Proving this is dynamic Rinie Boshoff and her inspiringly-named creative studio Museroom. Boshoff is carving a name for herself as a talented professional whose team delivers what it promises.

With years of experience in the graphic design, marketing and project management business, the super-focused Durban based entrepreneur said it was always her dream to form her own company.

“I’d worked in the business for years, and it was blindingly obvious that graphic design isn’t where it starts. Presenting a client with a fabulous ad, for instance, requires far more than just being able to design. You must understand what that brand is about, its target market, to whom it wants to appeal, and why. People spend thousands of rands on advertising, but it doesn’t necessarily represent who the client really is or what the brand is about.”

She’s speaking from blue-chip experience. Boshoff has worked on top brands like Unilever, Nestle, Bond Choice and Educor as well as on magazines and in in-house corporate marketing studios.

She knows her onions. As does Museroom’s team, which comprises some of the best professionals in the fields of graphic design, 3D rendering, web development, photography, copyrighting and brand management.

“Think of us as nine creative muses breathing life into your brand by creating a killer marketing strategy to get you noticed,” she said.

What differentiates Museroom from other agencies is the personal relationship Boshoff establishes with clients.

“Clients come in and think they know what they want. Other agencies would say fine, we can do it, but let’s go bigger than that. In our case, we spend valuable time researching the brand, understanding it, and then designing a campaign specifically targeted at their market. If there’s a strict budget, we also try to save the client money.”

It isn’t vital to spend huge bucks getting your name out there, she added. “With clever marketing, Museroom can make the magic happen for you.”

The team uses “whatever tools are at our disposal – and within your means – to deliver the best results for your advertising spend, and we incorporate all online media as well as conventional print marketing forms”.

Her passion and dedication drive her, but behind the professionalism is also an intense understanding of the importance of trust.

“Clients must have absolute faith in you. It’s easier to establish trust if you’re a small creative agency as opposed to a large corporation. I tell them that if they’re sceptical, we can start small, with maybe just a flyer, and take baby steps to ease their nervousness. They like that.”

They might also like that Boshoff is highly competitive, and dislikes settling for second place. “I like to win, and even when I do, I analyse how I could have improved on that …”

Which is, in a nutshell, why Museroom is so good at what it does. You’ll never have to settle for second-best either.
