November 19, 2010. A truck which has lost its cargo is causing a major traffic jam on the N2 north bound near the Umhlanga off-ramp.
The truck, which is apparently carrying a cargo of bottles, has caused traffic to back up towards the M25 KwaMashu turn-off. Motorists have been advised to look for alternative routes, possibly the Umgeni turn-off, or Nandi Drive.
Motorists report that a Coca Cola branded truck lost its cargo just before the Mount Edgecombe/Gateway turn-off and bottles were strewn all over the road. The KwaMashu off-ramp is also affected as drivers try to escape the traffic jam up the hill near Umhlanga.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate Undloti reported that the road was cleared by about 9am on Friday.
