September 26, 2011. The scientific community around the world has been unsettled by findings of scientists at the Large Hadron Collider at Cern Switzerland. Scientists were confounded at findings that subatomic particles seem to have travelled faster than the speed of light.
“Neutrinos sent through the ground from Cern towards the Grand Sasso laboratory 732km away in Italy seem to show up a tiny fraction of a second early,” reported the BBC.
If confirmed, the discovery could cause major upheaval, as it would shake some of the very foundations of modern physics.
