What have the Eyed Pansy, Evening Brown, Modest Sylph, Dark Hottentot, Clover Blue and the Eyed Bushbrown all got in common?
They are butterflies that have never been seen before in this area – well not until now.
On a recent Back-to-Nature Butterfly Day, 21 different species of butterflies were identified in the grassland that the Education Department has allocated to Kloof High School for educational purposes.
That’s very good news for this 8,5-hectare piece of land which is part of an ongoing rehabilitation project.
