South Africa is embarking on a major nuclear power programme. The government has announced that it is aiming of a local content factor of 50%. This implies that a huge amount of money will flow into the local economy. It also implies that many companies can become involved in this exciting venture. A nuclear plant needs pumps, valves, pipes, precision welding and much more.Many companies not now involved in any nuclear-related work can potentially become part of the nuclear project.
Dr Kelvin Kemm, CEO of Nuclear Africa (Pty) Ltd, a Pretoria-based nuclear project management company will be explaining South Africa’s nuclear power project.
