uShaka Marine World’s Cargo Hold restaurant is about to embark on a journey experiencing the sights, sounds and culinary delights across many famous coastal ports and destinations around the world without you having to pack a suitcase, the sunscreen or passport.

The first “Cargo Hold World Cruise” begins in the port of Maputo taking you on a culinary adventure full of spicy, island flavours synonymous with coastal Mozambique for the entire month of August.

Starters, of Trinchado, calamari, grilled peri-peri chicken livers, mussels, Mozambican salad certainly set the tone for this new dining experience.

Delicious mains, peri-peri chicken (marinated in fresh garlic, green chilli) will certainly warm the taste buds. Other options include Beef espetada, chicken and prawn espetada, prawns national, Mozambique chilli prawns, baked line fish, chicken and prawn curry, grilled calamari as well as some vegetarian options, that of vegetable curry or vegetable linguini which round off the main menu offerings.

World famous are our Cargo Classic seafood platters, from the Captains Platter (combination of grilled catch of the day, Patagonian calamari and mussels), Commanders Platter (combination of grilled kingklip, Patagonian calamari and 5 queen prawns) or the Admirals Platter (Cargo Hold’s most famed platter for two consisting of crayfish, prawns, mussels, calamari, line fish and langoustines). All platters are served with basmati rice, French fries, and your choice of peri-peri, lemon butter or garlic butters sauces.

For the more carnivorous, sirloin and fillet steaks are on offer, perfectly flame grilled and best served medium rare with your choice of fries, mash, rice or baby potatoes. Side dishes are numerous and include but not limited to, mixed seasonal vegetables, side salad, creamed spinach and more. Tasty sauces include mushroom, peri-peri, peppercorn, cheese and Café du Paris.

For those with room for dessert treats, there is Bolo Polana (a cashew and potato cake, complimented by a caramel and vanilla ice cream), crème de Mamao (papaya and egg pudding, just like the Mozambique n’s like it), Cocada Amarela (yellow coconut pudding), as well as homemade ice cream and soft centered chocolate pudding.

Come set sail with uShaka Marine World’s Cargo Hold, book your berth, and enjoy the flavours of the Indian Ocean. Make a reservation, by calling 031 328 8065/8066 or visit www.ushakamarineworld.co.za .
