Avid orchid fans are in for a treat in March when these stunning plants are put in the spotlight at the Natal Orchid Society’s annual Autumn Orchid Show.
Orchid enthusiasts need to diarise Saturday 17th March (10:15am – 4pm) and Sunday 18th March (9am – 3pm) to view the display at Parkhill Bowling Club, off Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Durban North.
All orchid lovers and keen gardeners are invited to visit the show where oncidiums, cattleyas, dendrobiums, vandas, plus many more, will be on display.
Potting demonstrations will be held on both days and a wide variety of orchids will be on sale for those who want to add to, or start, their own collection. Raffles will be held offering orchids as prizes.
Light lunches and refreshments will be on sale in the tea garden. The entrance fee is R15 and children under 12 are free.
Orchid-growers and anyone interested in owning and nurturing these beautiful plants are invited to attend the monthly meetings of the Natal Orchid Society. Meetings are held at the Parkhill Bowling Club on the second Monday of every month at 6:30pm.
