Romario Valentine – an 11-year-old eco-warrior from uMhlanga – has become a dynamic campaigner for the future health of our planet.
In his book Protect our Planet, Romario enthusiastically guides young nature lovers through key environmental topics including: The relationship between people and the environment; Renewable resources, such as solar power; Forestation and why trees matter; Types of pollution and the problem with plastic; Reducing, reusing and recycling; Climate change; The importance of clean water; Craft ideas, art activities and backyard projects.
Romario has done over 200 beach clean-ups, raised funds to purchase and plant 450 trees in over 20 countries, crowdfunded avian conservation projects, and is the youngest ambassador of Ocean Sole, a marine conservation non-profit in Kenya. He has ties to dozens of environmental organisations across the world, including the UN.
