The oldest yacht club in South Africa, the Royal Natal Yacht Club will be hosting the Royal Yacht Squadron Series from December 16-19 off Durban’s coast.
The Royal Yacht Squadron Series will have two regattas over the long weekend. The KZN Flying Fifteens Provincials and the Christmas Keelboat Regatta will race on various courses over the four days.
Flying Fifteens is a 20-foot two man racing keelboat and KZN sailors will use this event as a build up to the National Champs in Saldanha Bay in April next year. Only two yacht clubs in the country have an active Flying Fifteen sailing interest, the Royal Natal Yacht Club and the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club.
