Road runners showed up in their drives for the 2017 Deloitte Challenge 21.1km Half Marathon at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom on Sunday, 7 May 2017. It was the third consecutive year that Sibaya has played host to the start of the popular race which took runners on a scenic and challenging route to end at the Amphitheatre on the Durban Beachfront .
The 2017 Deloitte Challenge, hosted and organised by the Dolphin Coast Striders and sponsored by Deloitte, consisted of a marathon, half marathon, Ten-K and 5km fun run in addition to a 40km cycle, making it perfect for individuals and families who identify with the race theme, #ChallengeYourself.
Now a firm fixture on the local road running and cycling calendar, the Challenge, run between Ballito and Durban, saw Gift Kelehe and David Gatebe, respective winners of the 2015 and 2016 Comrades Marathon, participating in the marathon.
