The big question when South Africa take on India at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Boxing Day will be, “Can Sachin Tendulkar inspire the Indian batting line-up to take the fight to the Proteas?”.
The Indian cricket team were thrashed by more than an innings last week at Centurion, where another century from Tendulkar was not enough to save India after a shocking first innings performance with the bat against South Africa. It’s a well known fact that India’s batsmen battle with the combination of bounce and swing presented by South African pitches, and Kingsmead will likely prove no different.
Will Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid etc come to the party, or will it be the Jacques, Hashim, AB, Dale and Morne show once again? Good news for India is that Zaheer Khan (a top pace bowler who can bat a bit too) is likely to be fit.
