The Sharks were rocked yesterday by confirmation that Absa was withdrawing as The Sharks sponsor at the end of the year. This ended a fruitful 11-year-old relationship.
Absa has joined SA Rugby as the headline sponsor of the Springboks, but that leaves The Sharks floundering in the shallows without a headine partner for next year. We’re sure there will be many potential sutors.
Fans will be wondering whether it had anything to do with continued speculation about the future of The Sharks at the Shark Tank, with the colossus Moses Mabhida looming just across the road.
