Spend the day in the sun, cycling in the beautiful surroundings of the Shongweni Polo Club. It is a family event, with race distances to suit young and old, fit and not-so-fit! The local “cow herd” are all “hooves on deck” to assist the youngsters as they race around the 5km and 10km distances.
The family route will encourage young cyclists to experience easy water crossings and negotiate single tracks in the sugar cane, all the while ably assisted by the ‘cows’ decked out in their signature cow suits – who can even help out with puncture repairs!
The herd will be present on the day playing the role of Marshalls and will be positioned en route, ensuring the safety and well-being of all entrants.
Offering four superb races (45km, 20km, 10km and 5km), there will be entertainment for both adults and children as well as a mini market.
CHOC (The Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa) will be receiving a portion of the funds raised from the 5km and 10km Family Races to support the little heroes fighting Cancer.
So encourage your family and friends, cyclists and non-cyclists to take part on Sunday and help a good cause!
