St Mary’s celebrated 105 years in existence yesterday.
Each year this significant day is celebrated by the whole school with a certain theme, and this year’s theme was “floral”. Mrs Gill Padoa, the school chaplain, gave an inspiring presentation about how we should all accept the flower that God created us to be and to focus on our good qualities instead of allowing our flaws to bring us down.
To help blow out the candles on the big birthday cake, girls who were named after flowers or whose names meant flower were called up. The St Mary’s choir and orchestra completed the festivities performing PJ Powers’ “Jabulani”.
