At least 500 schools across KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape have been invited to participate in the OMO Liquid Greener, Cleaner, Smarter, Better Schools Challenge.

Schools will pledge their support to a greener and cleaner world by submitting an ecological portfolio which demonstrates how they are positively impacting the environment in which we live.
Teaching children about environmental responsibility starts at home. Children need to be raised with an understanding that environmental resources are precious and limited. It is with this understanding that children will grow more conscious of their surroundings and show more concern for their environment.
In offering guidance and support on project ideas, Eco Schools representatives will be conducting visits to the various schools to provide useful hints and tips to school children about how to be more cognisant of the environment.
Unilever, through its Sustainable Living Plan launched in November 2010, is committed to delivering its vision of doubling the company’s size whilst reducing its overall environmental impact – a target that the company does not take lightly.
One winning school from each province will receive R30 000 worth of equipment towards upgrading school facilities.
