Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, an unofficial holiday celebrated around the world.
Random Acts of Kindness Day is celebrated in the USA today, although New Zealanders mark the day on September 1st.
Whilst not an official public holiday, it’s a day when people are encouraged to do something kind for a friend or a stranger – for no reason.
However, there are spin-off benefits for the both giver and receiver. Research indicates that there are strong links between random acts of kindness and improvements in the health and wellbeing of individuals.
