Today is National Columnists Day – a day that recognises the importance and value of newspaper columnists.
We’re taking the liberty of assuming that the Day includes online columnists as well, therefore you’re already celebrating this “holiday” by reading this website!
In the USA, the National Society of Newspaper Columnists created National Columnists Day in memory of columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner Ernie Pyle, who was killed in World War II.
The organisation continues to sponsor and promote this day in support of columnists and journalists around the world.
