April 26, 2011. As part of the inaugural 031 Collection fashion spectacular to be held in Durban next month, Mr Price is bringing top UK supermodel Agyness Deyn to our shores.
Her individuality and unique take on fashion has put her on every season’s best dressed list and earned her followers the world over. According to the organisers of 031, Deyn is always ahead of the fashion pack and her ability to put together distinct looks reflects the Mr Price philosophy of leading with innovation and ensuring their customers get the latest looks at incredible value.
Once having worked in a fish shop in Manchester, Deyn’s life turned on its head when she was spotted by one of London’s top agencies. Today her unique style is described by Vogue magazine as “Jackie O crossed with Debbie Harry meets Stevie Nicks”. Her face has graced the covers of leading fashion bibles such as Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and Elle. From New York to Paris, she’s modeled collections for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Giorgio Armani and Jean Paul Gaultier, and been photographed for the top labels in the business. The multi-talented model has also DJ’d, designed clothing, edited a magazine, and even sings in her own band.
Deyn has long used her fame to raise awareness for worthy causes. She recently took part in the London Marathon to raise money for Oxfam, and while in South Africa has requested a visit to primary schools in low-income communities as part of the Mr Price RedCap Foundation.
Mr Price believes Deyn will leave her mark on our aspirant fashion designers, when she takes her place as the guest judge at the Mr Price New Designers Award.
She will also be styling a collection exclusively for Mr Price that will form part of the runway show at the event.
