It could have been the biggest booze-up known to man. Staff and two local residents enjoyed the ultimate “lock-in” at The Lion Inn in Blakey Ridge, North Yorkshire during the recent heavy snows across most of England.
The Daily Mail reported that they were trapped in the pub when heavy snow blocked the windows and doors of the isolated Lion and made surrounding roads too treacherous to pass.
Despite their ordeal, the spirits of those trapped were high. They busied themselves – eating, drinking and playing games – in a huge bar that normally serves 150 customers a night.
