From local schools to junior rugby, swimming and more, Des and Jeanine Brown have committed their time and resources to causes that they believe in, making a difference to so many people in the local community.

Trellidor Highway sponsors Hillcrest Villagers under-7 Junior Rugby team, with Des dedicating his time to couching the under 6 and under 7 age groups. You can’t help noticing how proud the boys are when they run on to the field in their smart new jerseys!
“The 2012 Junior season has turned out to be the biggest intake in ten years,” said club chairman Craig Dixon. “We have had over 70 new players which is easily the most from any junior club in the region!”
“It’s so rewarding when you see these little guys gaining confidence on the field,” says Des.
Swimming for gold
Kloof Amateur Swimming Club has a sterling record under coach Nick Gray (himself a South African record-holder), who has trained champion swimmers including Kathryn Meaklim, Troyden Prinsloo, Chad Ho and Cornelia Fowler.
Each year, Kloof ASC holds a special gala at the Kings Park Pool – the Kloof Mini-lympics – with the aim of introducing young swimmers to organised swim meets, while raising funds for the club so that it is able to support its swimmers at international, national and provincial galas.
This year, Trellidor Highway was the major sponsor of the event, supplying prize money for the fastest three swimmers in each race.
“So many people have benefitted from the work Kloof Amateur Swimming Club does,” says Jeanine. “We are happy to help where we can!”
Going the extra mile
Jo Albrecht is one very happy customer, with an innovative new security system installed in her home. “The chandelier created quite an obstacle, but the Trellidor Highway team didn’t give up. It was a process of trial and error, but they were always friendly, always professional and they got the job done,” says Jo.

Employing local lads
Jonathan and Nick Coetzee are an integral part of the Trellidor Highway team, with a growing number of fans! Jonathan is in sales while brother Nick manages installations. “I have been with Trellidor for six years now,” says Jonathan, “but the last year at Trellidor Highway has been the most rewarding. Our new product range has really distinguished us from our opposition.”
Community outreach
Ingane Yami Children’s Village is a new venture set to recreate stable families for children from the Shongweni Valley who have been left destitute by AIDS. The first three homes have been completed, with another 22 in the pipeline. Each will have facilities for six children, with a carefully selected mother to ensure that the children’s needs are met in a loving, nurturing environment.
“We’d like to thank Trellidor Highway for stepping in to sponsor our security requirements,” said Scott Hamilton, project manager and pastor at Kloof Harvest Church. “They’ve done a great job in designing burglar guards and security gates to keep our children safe.”
