Varsity College has combined talents from both the Westville and Durban North campuses to put on an entertainment show on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Westville Country Club, situated on the Westville campus of Varsity College. Auditions ran from August, 11 to 18 and 12 acts were picked by VC public relations students. Acts include singing, dancing, poetry and rapping.
The aim of this “VC’s got talent” show is to raise money, for the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC). The mission of this organisation is to contribute to the well-being of children with cancer and life threatening blood disorders, as well as their families. CHOC has centres based all over South Africa, and do not receive funding from government. They rely heavily on donations from caring corporations, individuals and parents of children with cancer.
VC’s got talent will be a whole lot of fun and entertainment with guest judges and feature acts like Lize Heerman from Idols, the well known band, Kickstands, and Prinston, a local singer from Pietermaritzburg. Dj Vu will be there along with Funky productions and Keith Slabbert Photography.
The show will begin at 3pm and will run through till 5pm. Tickets can be bought at Varsity College Westville Campus, or Varsity College Durban North Campus on Thursday, September 1 from 11 am till 1pm, or contact Zameer: 073 310 4316 for tickets.
