Ok, while this is not a new story, I think it’s worth seeing what $1 billion can buy you in downtown Mumbai. Mukesh Ambani, one of the richest men in the world built the world’s first billion dollar home in India. It has 27 storeys.
Ambani is the head of the petrochemical giant Reliance Industries in India, one of the leading industries in the country. He and his wife Nita wanted to build a custom home in downtown Mumbai, which allegedly cost $2 billion when finally fitted, designed and furnished. The building was designed by US architecture firms Perkins + Will and Hirsch Bedner Associates, the designers behind the Mandarin Oriental.
Ambani’s home named Antilla is about 180m high and has more than 100 000 square metres of interior space.
Quite a weird thing to do with all that hard cash, I reckon. Your thoughts, comments? – Ridge Correspondent
