The Puyehue volcano in Chile began erupting on June 4 and the associated ash cloud has already threatened air travel in South America, Australia and even Cape Town. In between the negative effects the eruption has provided heaven on earth for eager photographers, who’ve shot some amazing pics.
The latest clouds are denser and larger than the clouds in recent weeks and are expected to linger longer than their predecessor.
The volcano was dormant for more than 50 years before its dramatic eruption earlier this month.
