Before I became a parent, the likes of Ben 10, Toy Story and Transformers wouldn’t have been on my Top 10 list of movies to see.
However, now that my son is eight and my daughter is six, the characters from these movies have become part of my life. Add to the list Mickey Mouse, the Disney Princesses and you get the idea that cartoon characters are heroes to my children.
If you want to light up my daughters’ eyes, bring home a Tinkerbell t-shirt – her cartoon character gear is by far the most treasured in her whole wardrobe.
I remember when my son was her age and we went on holiday down the coast – he wore his Ben 10 pyjamas for five days non-stop. He absolutely refused to relinquish them for a clean set of clothing, as if he would be giving away his super-powers by changing into something clean. After his daily bath he would put them straight back on and carry on playing in his imaginary world.
The great secret about all this branded gear is that I have discovered JAM Clothing Store. They always have stock of the latest, coolest Disney, Cartoon Network, and Warner Brothers clothing for much less than you’d normally pay. Plus, their stores are packed with other great bargains on Men’s and Women’s fashion, too.
The last time I was there, I told my son it was like Alladin’s cave. He just looked at me blankly.
Hah, Alladin must be too “old school” for him!
