1 person died and 8 people were hospitalised after a stampede at the University of Johannesburg, when hundreds of prospective students stormed a gate at the Bunting Road campus.
Some students have blamed the university’s poor communication for the tragedy, as first-time students were unsure where to register and the gates were not opened.
