Dykes van Heerden hosts a Women’s Day event each year, where they select a specific women’s charity to be the beneficiary of any funds raised.
“This year we were fortunate enough to be hosted by Willow Way Manor, who are incredible to work with,” says Claire Crabb. The event centred around two aspects; supporting the local economy, such as Willow Way and surrounding KZN small businesses that have also battled during this pandemic, and most importantly: celebrating women. “With Gary Nixon from The Kickstands playing in the background and our wonderful Willow Way hosts, we were able to achieve our goal and raise funds for The Jess Foord Foundation.”
Blessed with the support of many generously sponsored items, Dykes van Heerden were able to auction these off to the top 100 property professionals across KZN. “Lupa in Hillcrest, owned and run by Chris Black, was our highest achieving item in the auction,” says Claire. “R5 000 was bid by Varina Ross of Seeff Hillcrest, and I have no doubt this experience will exceed the money she paid.”
Dykes van Heerden and their “DriVing Hope” foundation was able to raise R31 150 in the space of only two and a half hours. “None of this would have been possible without our resident property professionals and the incredible host of sponsors. This awesome amount of money was topped off with a car full of sanitary items and women’s clothing,” says Claire.
“We are proud to have supported such a worthy cause, and look forward to doing it again in 2022.”
