Thursday 1 August saw more world records being broken at the World Transplant Games.
Margaret Mills, a kidney transplantee from Great Britain, broke the World Transplant Games world record for 100 metre backstroke in the 60-69 age group. She clocked in a time of 1:57.50 with the previous world record being held at 2:00.14.
South Africans also continued to do their country proud in the swimming events, with gold medals going to Tersia Smit from Pretoria for 50 metres freestyle, and Harold Moore from the Western Cape in 400 metres freestyle. Moore also won silver for 50 metres freestyle.
Koenraad Pretorius from Paal took a silver medal in the 200 metres freestyle event.
South Africa also reached the Badminton finals against Argentina, where they unfortunately came up short against the future hosts of the 2015 World Transplant Games.
