Durban North residents and synchronised swimmers Kelly Slowley, Teal Muirhead, Lori Niemand and Akira Singh recently returned home from representing South Africa at the FINA World Champs in Barcelona and the Mediterranean Cup in Andorra.
The Sygnus Amateur Swimming Club members performed to the best of their abilities and did their country proud by improving South Africa’s world ranking by three positions.
While the young swimmers may not have finished among the top teams, they learnt a great deal from their experiences and will surely go on to do great things for South Africa in future.
