ZIMBALI HAS BECOME SYNONYMOUS WITH OPULENT LIVING, TRANQUILLITY AND THE CONVENIENCE OF A LOCK-UP ENVIRONMENT. NICOLA JENVEY ATTENDED THE LAUNCH OF ANOTHER EXCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE NORTH COAST RESORT
Amid the understated elegance and natural beauty from the abundant bird and wildlife within Zimbali Coastal Resort, the ultra-modern Kauai development promises potential investors the opportunity to indulge in their senses and commune with nature.
The lashings of timber and rough stone cladding showcase the signature natural flow of award-winning architect Chen Sagnelli, while Over Ridge Properties director Brendon Penn says Kauai features the best in design and world-class finishes, pitting the development as “a haven within the sub-tropical Zimbali setting”.
The development is named for the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands, colloquially known as the Garden Isle.
Penn says the properties are specifically suited to corporate executives requiring lock-up and go; well-heeled surgeons deserving tranquillity when the rigours of work have ended and airport decision-makers seeking a harmonious environment near the Dube Tradeport when that multi-billion-rand initiative comes on-stream early next year.
The recently-completed phase one includes nine apartments and two penthouses, while five villas lap the lake edges, symbiotic of the existence between the home owner, indigenous bushbuck and duiker in the coastal forest and more than 260 bird species co-habiting in Zimbali.
Penn believes the villas offer a unique opportunity to the holiday market seeking a well-appointed property investment, particularly given the benchmark entry level into Zimbali touches R5 million.
“With its enviable location, masterful architecture and exceptional finishes, this development promises to be a fitting addition to Zimbali. Influenced by the panoramic 180 degree sea views, sub-tropical weather and lush green surroundings, Kauai’s expansive open-plan living areas integrate seamlessly with the wide covered verandas,” he says.
The three-bedroom Kauai apartments range from R3.5 million for a 192m2 unit to R5.95 million for 336m2. The four-bedroom penthouses embracing 414m2 of stylish coastal living and aesthetic design are priced between R9 million and R11 million.
The Kauai Water Villas, each measuring 344m2 and also boasting 215-315m2 of exclusive use lakeside gardens, range from R5.25 million to R6.3 million. Penn says each unit features “exceptional interior-exterior flow” with fold-away doors and wide window frames to encourage a flood of light into the interior.
