Following the regulations on the legislation covering Air Quality Management. The Environmental Affairs Forum will be having a presentation from EThekwini Municipality covering;
Presentation on:
- The Distinct shift from exclusively source-based air pollution control to holistic and integrated effects-based air quality management
- Focus on adverse impacts of air pollution on the ambient environment
- Standards for pollutant levels in ambient air
- Emission standards to minimise the amount of pollution that enters the atmosphere
About Presenter: Bruce Dale: Senior Manager; Pollution Control/AQO
Bruce has 32 years experience within the Health Unit of eThekwini in the early years; he was responsible for Industrial Impact Management and Pollution Control (Air & Noise) in the West Sub-district. 12 years ago he commenced work in the South Durban Basin as Manager of Environmental Health, whilst also part of a Project Management Team responsible for establishing and commissioning the ambient air quality management network in the South Durban basin.
Since 2014, he has worked as an Air Quality Officer/Senior Manager for Pollution Control within eThekwini and is responsible for Air Quality Management. He was appointed during 2014 as an Environmental Management Inspector (Grade 1) and in addition to being responsible for signing off on all AEL’s, is also responsible for Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement.
