Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, will soon make her first ever visit to South Africa. Many may still remember Doulos, Logos Hope’s former sister ship. The last visit of Doulos in South Africa was in 2005, where nearly 80, 000 visitors were welcomed up the gangway across two ports in South Africa. Now, Logos Hope will be making her voyage around South Africa, starting in Durban, then Richards Bay, East London, followed by Port Elizabeth and finally ending in Cape Town. Logos Hope is a much larger vessel which allows for a wider book selection and more comfortable browsing.

Upcoming Ports and opening dates:

Durban 17 March – 03 April 2016
Richards Bay 05 May – 17 May 2016
East London 20 May – 30 May 2016
Port Elizabeth 09 June – 20 June 2016
Cape Town 24   June – 11 July 2016

Logos Hope’s on board book fair offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 different titles at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, arts, medicine, languages and philosophy. With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, the book fair is something the whole family can enjoy. Additionally, the rest of the Visitor Experience Deck is also open for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale, there is sure to be something for everyone.

MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships e.V., an international, charitable organization registered in Germany. Since 1970, the organization has welcomed over 45 million visitors up the gangways in over 160 countries and territories around the world.

MV Logos Hope will open to the public at “N – Jetty”, Durban Port, from 17th March to 3rd of April 2016. Entrance fee is 5 Rand. Children under 12 years old enter for free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
