Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk

Whether you want to spend time with the whole family, play catch-up with friends or bond with your work mates, this annual event brings people together from around the province in a celebration of Durban’s natural beauty. There are four routes (5km, 10km, 15km and 20km) that take walkers along one of the most magnificent promenades in the country starting at uShaka Marine World, combining exercise, fresh air and of course, loads of fun that continues at the finish at People’s Park, Moses Mabhida. There may even be a surprise or two (or three!) at the end!

“There is a certain responsibility on big brands to mend pockets of society when needed. Corporate responsibility goes way beyond just ticking a scorecard,” says East Coast Radio’s Marketing Manager, Renée Burton. “This is why the 2016 Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk is celebrating the true united pulse of our community. This event has grown exponentially since it began 12 years ago. The community that makes it a success is diverse and encompasses the true sense that is synonymous with our KZN family.”

With something for everyone including meeting East Coast Radio presenters along the route, entertainment for the kids, and plenty of opportunity to take #HealthySelfies along the way, it is easy to see why the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk is a firm favourite on the KwaZulu-Natal social and sporting calendar.

Entries are now open. You can register online at www.ecr.co.za or at selected Totalsports stores. Only the first 30 000 entries will be accepted, so hurry!
