A single vehicle accident in the Thornville area yesterday afternoon left four people with critical injuries.
The vehicle was reportedly travelling on the R56 when the driver suddenly lost control and the vehicle rolled.
The vehicle crashed through a fence, and while it continued to roll into a nearby farm field, one of the occupants was ejected.
The other three occupants – a woman and two men – remained trapped , and Fire and Rescue workers used the jaws of life to remove them from the wreckage.
ER24 paramedics attended to the injuries of all four of the patients, who appeared to be aged in their early-30s.
Two Medicopters were called in to land at the scene as the woman and one of the men had sustained severe injuries and needed immediate treatment at a medical facility.
The other two men were stabilised on the scene before being transferred to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
The incident will be investigated by officials who attended the scene.
