This was the case for San-Marie Aucamp who, at 26, was the youngest patient to appear on the show. She’d lost her confidence after years of bullying in high school, but this was something the Dr Rulene Maré and therapist Elke Kritzinger could help her get back.

A perfected profile
San-Marie was self-conscious about her profile due to a bump on her nose and a weak chin, but this was an easy, knife-free fix. Dr Maré inserted dissolvable polydioxanone (PDO threads) into San-Marie’s nose to straighten her nasal bridge while dermal fillers could create a more even look that completely hid the bump. Dermal fillers were also used to build up San-Marie’s chin while a series of injections containing a fat-melting Ceccarelli solution enhanced her neckline.
“The fillers I got in my nose and chin made an enormous difference in my face! The change to my face is amazing – I love my new chin and straight nose so much!”, says San-Marie.
Eye alive!
As San-Marie’s eyes were heavily hooded, Dr Maré decided to open them up using a two-pronged approach. PDO barbed threads were inserted into her forehead to lift up her eyebrows and create a more “open” look. This was enhanced further via a Jett Plasma Eye Rejuvenation treatment. Essentially a knife-free blepharoplasty, the Jett Plasma device emits an electrical current to the eyelid that causes it to instantly tighten up while stimulating the growth of collagen.
“The actual treatment was not as painful, the post-treatment recovery was the worst! The results, however, were extremely visible – less excess skin and fat around my eyelids!”, says San-Marie. In short, worth it!
