Like it or not, your mom is the person who loves you the most in the whole wide world – ALWAYS. It doesn’t matter what you do, how many times you mess up; that love is unconditional. She will do literally ANYTHING for you. I only realised this when I became a mom myself. That’s how my mom feels about me. Wow. This was a big revelation for me!
I remember when my son was born; looking into his eyes for the first time and feeling that instant connection, like I had always known him and always loved him – makes sense, since he is a part of me. But that overwhelming feeling of love has never left, and it never will. No-one can prepare you for this kind of great love that a mother has for her children.
I finally understood where my mom was coming from… and appreciated all she has done and sacrificed for us. The kind of sacrifice a mom makes is unlike any other. She gives up a piece of herself when she becomes a mom and changes in more ways than you can imagine.
Even though I’m all grown up now, my mom continues to look after me, and my son – in big and small ways. Once a mom, always a mom!
Being a mom is hard, but also wonderful! You would do it a thousand times over just to hear them say “I love you, Mommy”.
So this Mother’s Day, give your mom the best gift ever – just tell her you love her and cherish her. You will make her heart sing!
