The road, known as the P445 that links the N2, from the new interchange to the M4 in Ballito will be upgraded to 6 lanes, incorporate taxi lay-bys and pedestrian walk ways.
Kwadukuza Municipality has announced that contractors have been appointed and will be on site within the next two weeks.
The upgrade is expected to take 14 months commencing July 2013.
A meeting has been scheduled with the executive director technical services to discuss the impact on business and a traffic management plan will be circulated shortly.
