The Durban Society of Model Engines celebrates its 100th anniversary on 2 July 2013, making it the oldest model engineering club in South Africa.

The club is based in Durban North, near Virginia airport, and is open to the public on the second and fourth Sunday of every month.

The Cape Town Society of Model and Experimental Engineers was founded in 1907
