The sound of pounding hooves, the clashing of the mallets and tinkle of toasting champagne glasses can only mean one thing; it’s time for the epitome of sportsmanship, glamour and style at the BMW International Polo Series 2013.

Chile will be taking on South Africa in official Test matches in Durban and Johannesburg during the month of August.
With the teams sharing a near 40-year rivalry, it is only fitting that sponsors BMW South Africa are celebrating their 40th anniversary.
The Chileans have not yet been victorious over their rivals on South African soil in five previous encounters.
However, they will present a stern challenge after their success as World Champions in the FIP World Cup in 2008, with many of those players having sharpened their skills and grown in experience.

“Chilean polo players are renowned for their horsemanship and agility in the saddle and we can assure polo fans that the two Tests will be thrilling encounters, especially as the visitors will be determined to get their first victory in five attempts in South Africa,” said Mr Walter Grindrod, President of the SA Polo Association.
BMW’s collaboration with the South African Polo Association is one of the longest-running consecutive sports sponsorships in South Africa, with BMW showing 24 years of commitment to the sport this year.
The first test will take place at Shongweni in Hillcrest, Durban on Sunday 18 August, with the second and final test following on Sunday 25 August at Waterfall Park in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.
Guests are encouraged to bring their families and a picnic basket along to the event.
Tickets for the Shongweni test cost R80 per person (West Bank) or R50 per person (East Bank). Children under 12 get in free. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gates on the day.
