The 3rd Bummer Beach Run & Walk will take place our beautiful coastline on Sunday 25 June 2017.
Some exciting changes have been brought in this year:
· There are 3 new routes, all finishing at BEACH BUMS
· 23km Super Adventure Run starting 08h30 at Tinley Manor is a natural adventure race with rocks, coves and climbs in addition to the sand and waves. It is not for the faint-hearted. Minimum age 18. 100 entries available
· 15km Big Adventure Run & Walk 09h00 takes in the northern stretch to Tongaat River and south to La Mercy. Less rocks to clamber over but still a challenge. Minimum age 16. 200 entries available
· 7km Family Adventure Run & Walk 09h30 takes in the easier going southern route to La Mercy and back. Small children should be accompanied by an adult. 300 entries available.
· Beach Bums offers ‘forever chilled’ hospitality, plenty of parking, facilities, and food and beverages…ideal for a family outing.
The events are scheduled to run into the low tide which makes for firmer sand and easier going. Mid-winter coastal weather is usually stable and sunny, but not too hot.
Entries are available online for the Bummer Beach Run & Walk on event portal www.roag.co.za
Entry fees are 23km R160, 15km R120, and 7km R80. The official charity beneficiary is PinkDrive. A portion of every entry goes to PinkDrive and entrants can add an additional donation. Online entries close 22 June 2017. Late entries +R20 will be taken thereafter if space is available. All finishers will receive a race hand-out. Numerous lucky prizes will be up for grabs. It will be a fun outing on the beach, and a fun day at Beach Bums
The events are organised by Durban Athletic Club (Malcolm Millar) and Riverside Trail (Vaughn Smit).
