This arty butterfly toilet paper roll craft will actually make an amazing wall display.
Because of this, and if you use kitchen paper towel rolls or craft rolls, this one makes a cool classroom project – just think about the wonderful wall display with colourful paper roll butterflies.
What you need:
• Toilet paper roll (one or more, alternatively kitchen paper towel rolls or store bought craft rolls)
• White school glue
• Paints
• Paint brushes
• Scissors
• Canvas or cardstock
What to do:
• Press the paper roll down to make it flat.
• Start by cutting the paper roll to 6 somewhat equal parts. Push for 6 from one toilet paper. If rolls seem too difficult, use 2 paper rolls.
• Set aside the 5 and take one. Cut at one end (along the fold). Fold over, glue at bottom to form the antenna, hold together for a while for the glue to set (or use clothespins or paper clips to hold together).
• Prepare your canvas (you can paint it too). Dip one side of paper roll mini rolls into glue and stick it to the center (bottom half) of the canvas. This will make the body of the butterfly.
• Dip other rolls into glue too and stick them on the canvas, forming the butterfly wings.
• Stick the antenna above the body.
• Let the glue dry. Pick your favourite paint colours. Paint the inside of toilet paper rolls.
