BVA Architects has a new look and a new home, but the company continues to offer the same innovative design and high-quality service it’s known for.

In 2008, two of the firm’s directors, Leanne Alexander and Wayne Allen, took over Basil Vogas Architects, based in Umhlanga, building on their experience with the practice since its inception in 1995. In 2011, they transformed the company into BVA Architects, with a new logo and home in Kloof.
“Bellevue Campus is a refreshing change from standard offices,” says Wayne. “We’re a busy practice, but being here gives us the opportunity to take time and appreciate what’s around us.”
The company specialises in healthcare facilities, with Hillcrest Private Hospital being one of the directors’ proudest achievements. “It was wonderful to see the hospital become a reality for the community,” says Wayne.
BVA has been involved with over 300 private healthcare projects across the country, including new hospitals, and refurbishment and expansion of existing facilities. Current projects include major expansion to Kingsway and Richards Bay Hospitals, and BVA has also undertaken a range of commercial developments and luxury homes.
“We love what we do and it’s a real team effort,” says Leanne. With 11 highly skilled staff, BVA is able to offer a wide range of services, including in-house 3Ds and interior design, while still taking the time to listen to their clients.
“We have the experience to provide top-quality design, but developing relationships with our clients is key,” says Leanne. “Trust is everything.”
