Unite under the stars for some festive cheer at this year’s edition of the Old Mutual Carols by Candlelight at the Durban Botanical Gardens on Friday 13 December.
The talented Durban City Orchestra, featuring a full cast of over 40 members comprising experienced musicians from diverse backgrounds, will perform many of the public’s favourite carols.
The City Orchestra will be accompanied by guest solo artists, as well as a unique bagpiper element to the evening.
Father Christmas will also be at the Kidzone as a guest of honour to entertain all the kids.
Carols by Candlelight is more than just a concert – it’s also an opportunity to give to and spread festivity to children who, due to a variety of social problems, will spend their festive season at various charities in and around the city.
Concert goers are encouraged to donate appropriate children’s gifts for charity. Suitable items include non-perishables, blankets and toys. Collectable bins will be placed around the gardens to deposit items for the selected charity centres.
The event gets underway at 6pm. Tickets cost between R50 and R110 per person and can be purchased through Webtickets.
