To put the spotlight on South African start-ups, Hirsch’s has started monthly Networking Workshops for businesses in all the areas in which they operate. Business owners who want to showcase their start-ups can bring their products to the monthly workshops and present them.
Earlier this month, at Hirsch’s Hillcrest branch, Michael Currin, who started Homefarm, an indoor farming appliance, showcased his product alongside Theoshan Moodley and Dr Astin Anirudh, founders of V.Rome – who showcased their virtual reality property sales system.
Margaret Hirsch, who has won multiple awards in entrepreneurship over the years, is excited to be spearheading this initiative. “We’ve been there ourselves and we know the value of visibility and networking. We would love to see these South African start-ups grow and thrive as we have done over the years.”
