Cowan House has a Christian ethos and offers a balanced education from Grade RRR to Grade 7, with strong academics, a full sporting programme and a variety of cultural activities. They aim to unlock potential, self-belief and curiosity in life-long learning, through Christian principles. Boarding is offered from Grade 1 to Grade 7.
Pre Primary
Play is one of the most important aspects of their programme for pre-primary education at Cowan House. They offer the full pre-primary education experience with a focus on the development of the whole child – socially, emotionally, physically, aesthetically and cognitively.
They have the best of both worlds, where your child can learn and explore in a caring, nurturing environment with well-equipped play areas including the specially-built rock garden, whilst enjoying the broader experiences offered by the ‘big school’ such as computers, interactive whiteboards, library, music and sporting facilities.
Junior Primary
In the Foundation Phase the curriculum is underpinned by a strong Christian faith and value system that is encouraged daily. They believe that the early years of education form a crucial foundation for lifelong learning. Children are encouraged to learn beyond the classroom in a nurturing and stimulating environment, where their confidence and skills are developed through creative activities, exploration and discovery – encouraging independent and critical thinking.
Life skills activities allow for children to cope with diversity and to embrace differences and be adaptable. Their holistic educational approach and beautiful outdoor surroundings is a place where children feel happy and secure and are able to identify their strengths and be themselves.
Senior Primary
The senior primary school curriculum is a dynamic one which is frequently reviewed to meet the children’s maturing emotional, social and academic needs.
