Under An African Sky is a voluntary association which was formed in 2010 by Ian Du Randt of Compass Waste Services with the vision of promoting a better life for animals. This year, funds from the sale of the calendar will go to CROW.
Ian Du Randt says, “The Compass team, Brendan and Shane have been actively involved in producing this exquisite calendar over the last three years. Each year, we have tried to improve the standard of the calendar to such an extent that this year we took the decision to have the box cover printed, so that our loyal customers would not even be required to wrap the calendar should they wish to give it to family and friends as a gift. At R150, I don’t think you can buy a more appropriate Christmas gift that will last the entire year.”
The calendar features the photography of Shane Doyle and design by Brendan Bromfield. This is made possible by the generosity of Bigfoot Express Freight, Boxlee, Burblepix, Capital Outsourcing Group, CMH, CoroKraft, Durban Solid Waste, Du Randt Family, Koogan Plastics, Loads for Africa, Nedbank, PailPac, Prestige Satellite Tracking, RoGa and Rotocor.
CROW, the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, based in Yellowwood Park, rescues, rehabilitates and releases 3 000 to 5 000 injured, orphaned or dislodged wild animals every year. The funds raised from the sponsorship and sale of calendars will be used for the construction of geese and water bird enclosures, a baboon boma and for daily operational needs.
The 59.5cm x 43cm calendar is R150 and can be purchased online at www.underanafricansky.co.za or at various KZN shopping centres throughout the festive season.
