Information about new trends, new décor styles, new fashions and fads are coming at us thick and fast. It’s hard to make sense of it all and to find the look and lifestyle that suits our needs.
That’s why Decorex Durban, the annual showcase of the latest décor, design and lifestyle brands, is a great opportunity to do a one-stop catch up on how we’re all going to be living in 2014.
Decorex Durban takes place from 20 to 23 March at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
Themed “Design Your Life” Decorex Durban is aimed at helping you find the décor and design solutions that work for you and your lifestyle.
“We also live in challenging economic times,” says General Manager of Decorex SA, Sian Steyn. “We understand that following trends is an expensive business. The variety of designs and products on display at Decorex Durban will give visitors the opportunity to mix and match the styles they like and design their very own lifestyle trend – that will last.”
Plascon’s annual colour forecast will be unveiled at Decorex Durban, and the four distinct colour palettes will define all of their interiors in the months ahead.
Durban design duo Urban Lace will create an installation at the entrance to Decorex Durban. Chantelle Moss and Sarah Reynolds emphasise that they will not be creating a cookie cutter décor look, but rather a highly individual design, in keeping with the theme of the show.

by putting you in touch with the latest
décor and lifestyle trends.
At the Belgotex Trend House, five decorators will design rooms inspired by the latest in flooring trends and showcase Belgotex Floorcoverings in different settings. The latest movement in flooring is towards value and comfort, combining modern design and technology.
“Vinyl is definitely the hottest flooring trend at the moment,” says Belgotex marketing manager Helen de Villiers, “both for its decorative finish as well as its improved user-friendliness. We’ve seen huge improvements in the quality of vinyl – at Belgotex we only use virgin PVC – and consumers are loving its affordability, easy installation and water-resistance.”
Of course, outdoor living and a nature-inspired lifestyle is one of the biggest trends of the 21st century and that’s why Decorex Durban has invited 3 local male celebrities, Daniel Redman, Gabriel Sithole and Russel Symcox, to inspire visitors with their outdoor style.
From braais to pools, gardens to verandahs, the Manscapes feature will showcase a variety of different outdoor trends and offer gentleman visitors to Decorex Durban some soul food too.
The exhibition will be open on weekdays from 10am to 8pm and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday.
