Decorex Durban has a wide variety of delicious foods in hot spots around the exhibition, as well as food experts on hand for advice at the Design Your Life theatre. This can mean only one thing – Decorex Durban is set to be so much more than just a décor, design and lifestyle exhibition.
Decorex Durban takes place over the Human Rights Day weekend, from 20 to 23 March, at the Durban Exhibition Centre and the delicious selection of food guarantees a great day out for the entire family.
The KWV Gourmet Market is sure to be a great foodie attraction, where visitors can feast on everything from meze to tapas, lamb to seafood, venison to vegetarian – all cleverly paired with wine and cocktail suggestions. Those with a fondness for sweet treats can be tantalized by Bella and Boo frozen yoghurt, as well as a delectable confectionary table.
South African Barista Champion, Craig Charity from Lineage Coffee and Stretta Café will not only be showing off his coffee-brewing talents, but will serve up his award- winning brew at the KWV Gourmet Market.
Stretta Café will create the best of Italian flair at their pop up restaurant, including pizzas made in their mobile pizza oven. They will demonstrate how to use fresh ingredients to make interesting new Italian dishes that are as easy to replicate at home as they are on stage.

There will also be a foodie demo by Eat Greek Caterers. Chef Eric Edwards will demonstrate a Greek favourite, Gouvetsi – a lamb chop and rice noodle casserole which is slowly baked in a fresh tomato sauce and topped with a Kephalotiri cheese.
Also included in the lineup is MasterChef South Africa finalist Joani Mitchell, who’ll present “Delicious Dining with Quinoa”. Joani will be making five different dishes that incorporate this protein and textured filled grain, ranging from quinoa sushi rolls to quinoa fruit and nut bars.
After a long day at the exhibition, what better way to relax than at the picnic area situated next to the market, where visitors can enjoy eats and view local art in the Art Gallery section of the exhibition?
Alternatively, there is the adults-only Unwined Bar situated right in the heart of the exhibition. This is a great meeting place or simply a spot to relax and digest all that you have seen. The Unwined Bar will serve delicious wines and bubbly with exquisite continental-style snacks.
Decorex Durban stays open until 8pm daily and until 6pm on Sunday.
